Let's Get It Started

So this is the first ever issue of the Millennial Punk Newsletter. As I write this, I have one subscriber, and that's okay. We've been through some incredible things together, at both ends of the spectrum. If I've learned anything from the ups and downs, it's this: don't live and produce for others. Do it for you, and then invite others to join. That's what I'm doing here.

What made you subscribe to this newsletter? Was it the incredible logo? (made in Canva) The wittiness of the description? Plain old nostalgia?

Perhaps it's wanting to be around a group of our generation who are trying their best to live their best life.

As an adult, it's never been easy for me to fit in. I always feel left out. While my friends were off doing their own thing in their 20s and 30s, I married to love of my life and had three kids, all before turning 30.

Do you feel like you can't fit in?

It's okay. Me too, you're not alone.

Tell me if any of this sounds familiar:

  • You grew up outside with your parents telling you to come home when it's dark

  • Your purified water of choice was La Garden Hose

  • You saw the birth of this new and weird thing called the internet (who would ever use this?)

  • You remember when New York City had twin towers

  • Two decades of war

  • Your graduation present was a recession

The list goes on and on. Perhaps we've had a hard time finding a close group because we've been too busy trying to make things work. Something big, like move out of our parents' basement!

So What Is This Newsletter?

I wish I had a detailed answer for that. Quite honestly, I'm not totally sure, but here's some of the things we are going to talk about.

Growing up in the 90s/2000s- the music, trends, styles, all the pop culture.

Parenting- since many of us are full-blown adults (when did that happen?!) we can share some stories about raising kids in today's crazy world.

Favorite memories.

Career/Professional Advice.

This newsletter will publish every Friday. So in addition to the weekend, you have THIS to look forward to at the end of your week.

That's it for now. In the meantime, check out my website (link below). I'm writing a book about some things and stuff.
