Oh Yeah?! Your Mom! (and Dad)
Does Generation Play Into Parenting?
Best Comeback, EVER
Do you remember using this comeback with your friends? I don't think I've heard it or said it since the last 90s/early 2000s but it seemed like it was always a way to get back at those who were dishing out insults to you.
So, About Your Parents...
In speaking with other millennials, I was getting a mix of the generation of their parents. I have Boomer parents while my wife has Gen X parents. My parents seemed on the "older" side while hers, younger.
This got me thinking. From what generation do most of our parents hail?
There's no better way to answer this question than looking to Reddit!
This is by no means a large sample size, but I was impressed that there were almost 150 participants. In summary, 73% of millennials have Baby Boomer parents while 22% have Gen X Parents.
Does Any of this Matter?
Maybe, maybe not. Different generations tend to raise their kids/parent differently. For example, there's a pretty large different from how my wife was raised to how I was raised.
Take a look a the article below to explore some of the differences.
TLDR
Boomers- wanted the best for their kids and wanted them to go to college
Gen X- wanted their kids to explore individualism
Millennials- open-minded and non helicopter parents
What do you think?
